The hands: Liars tend to use gestures with their hands after they speak as opposed to during or before a conversation, says Traci Brown, who has participated in a deception training program with members of the FBI and occasionally helps work on investigations. John and Jack are the compulsive liars in this situation. If we study the statement correctly then Joey said that Jack is a liar which will mean that one of them is a liar.We moved to the Seattle area about 6 years ago and bought a home here four years ago. No way could we afford the same home now even with our salary increases over that time. And we are kicking ourselves for not buying right when we got here as prices increased a ton during those first two years...Two kids are liars, three can only say the truth. Jane: " Julia is only a liar, if John is telling the truth." Jack: "If you round up Jane, Joey and John, you will have at least one liar." Which kids are the compulsive liars? Her two clenched fists were brought to her chest in excitement, causing you to giggle a bit. "You seem like you'd enjoy story driven games—mystery maybe? "Ultimate Liar, huh?" You nodded, worried about what he may be getting at. "Well I'll let you lie on me as much as you'd like."
Sorry if this resolution seems messy as I am typing this whilst pondering this out.
There are five kids in overall. 3 tell the truth, and a couple of are liars.
Jane was once the one one referred to as an outright liar, by way of Joey.
1. Julia: Jack false if John true
2. John: If Jack true, then Julia or Joey true (does not contradict 1)
3. Jack: If Joey true, then Julia or John lie (does no longer contradict 1 or 2)
4. Joey: Jane lies, as does Julia or Jack (contradicts 1 or 3)
5. Jane: Julia + Joey + John = no less than one liar (if true, factually proper. If lie, then Julia, Joey and John are truthful, and this means Jane and Jack are the liars).
We have two possible results. Jane is truthful, or is a liar. If Jane is a liar, then we will infer that Julia, Joey and John are fair. Let's check this:
1. Julia: Jack lies if John true - we will deem this true
2. John: If Jack true, then Julia or Joey true - we will deem this as true.
3. Jack: If Joey true, then Julia or John lie - we will deem this false, because if Joey is fair, then neither Julia nor John lies
4. Joey: Jane lies, as does Julia OR Jack - that is very flaky. We can deem Joey's statement about Jane is correct, but his latter part may be very weak. We can think he talking with the most productive of his knowledge, and is true if implemented to Jack.
5. Jane: we will think the observation to be false.
Therefore Julia, Joey and John are honest, while Jack and Jane are liars.
